Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to every order of Mama Ozella's books. Please read sections 6 and 9 before you buy. Last updated: 4 November 2026.

1. Who you are buying from

The books on this site are sold through Gumroad (Gumroad, Inc.), which takes the payment, handles any sales tax or VAT and delivers the files. The books themselves are made and published by: Chilla Verhagen, Ham 10, 2685 WG Poeldijk, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 64875482. VAT (BTW) number: NL002295073B81.

“We”, “us” and “our” below mean that business. Mama Ozella is the character and voice of this brand, not a separate legal person.

2. How you pay: through Gumroad

Every purchase goes through Gumroad (Gumroad, Inc.). When you click a buy button on this site, you go to Gumroad's checkout. Gumroad takes the payment, adds any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live, sends your receipt and gives you the download link. For the checkout itself, Gumroad's own terms and privacy policy also apply.

3. What we sell

We sell cookbooks and household books as PDF ebooks, one by one or together in a bundle (the Kitchen Shelf, the House Shelf and the Whole Shelf). Nothing is shipped by post. There is no printed book.

4. Prices and currency

Prices are in US dollars. Where sales tax or VAT applies, Gumroad calculates it and shows it at checkout before you pay. If your bank converts the amount to another currency, any fee for that is between you and your bank.

5. Delivery

You get the download link on Gumroad's receipt page right after payment and in the email Gumroad sends you. If you lose it, reply to your Gumroad receipt email and we will help you get it again.

6. Right of withdrawal

If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase. For digital content this right ends once the download starts, if you agree to that. By buying and asking for the download right away, you agree to that. Our 30-day promise in section 7 gives you more than this.

If you live outside the EU and the UK, no legal cooling-off period applies to a digital purchase, but our 30-day promise in section 7 applies to you just the same.

7. Refunds: our 30-day promise

If a book doesn't earn its place in your house, reply to your Gumroad receipt within 30 days of buying and you get every penny back, for any reason. We also refund when something went wrong on our side. Refunds are paid back through Gumroad. See our refund policy.

8. What you may do with the books

The books are for you and your household. You may read them on your own devices and print pages for your own kitchen and home. You may not share the files, sell them, post them online or use them for a business. The copyright stays with Chilla Verhagen.

9. What these books are not

The cookbooks are home recipes. They are not medical, nutrition or diet advice. The house books describe old household ways: follow the safety box with every method, never mix what the book says not to mix, keep mixes away from children and pets, and call a professional where the book says so. Check every recipe for your own allergies and health needs, and follow food-safety guidance for cooking, storing and reheating. Prices per plate are estimates and will differ by store and season. How a dish turns out depends on your ingredients, your stove and your pans.

10. Our liability

If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the order. This does not limit any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

11. What you need to open the files

Any phone, tablet or computer that opens PDF files. The files are large (Book 1 is about 40 MB), so a Wi-Fi connection helps.

12. If something goes wrong

Please write to us first: reply to your Gumroad receipt email. Most problems are fixed the same day. Please contact us before you file a dispute with your bank or card company. You can also contact the consumer authority where you live.

13. Which law applies

Dutch law applies to these terms and to every purchase made under them. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. For the checkout and the payment, Gumroad's own terms apply as well.

14. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one on this page on the day you ordered.
