Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we do with your personal data when you visit this site or buy a book. Last updated: 4 November 2026.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Chilla Verhagen, Ham 10, 2685 WG Poeldijk, the Netherlands (KvK 64875482). We are the data controller for this website and for the order details Gumroad passes on to us. Gumroad is responsible for the checkout and payment data under its own privacy policy. You reach us by replying to your Gumroad receipt email. Because we are established in the Netherlands, the GDPR applies.
2. What we collect, and why
- Your order, which Gumroad passes on to us: your name, email address, country and what you bought. We need this to help you with your books and to keep our accounts (contract and legal duty).
- Your emails to us: what you write, so we can answer (legitimate interest).
- Server logs: IP address, browser and pages visited, to keep the site safe and working (legitimate interest).
This site has no customer accounts and no shopping cart. You do not leave any details on this site itself.
3. Your card details
Payments are handled by Gumroad. You type your card details on Gumroad's secure checkout. We never see or store your card number. For what Gumroad does with your data, see Gumroad's privacy policy.
4. Who else sees your data
- Gumroad, for the checkout, the payment, the receipt and the download
- Hostinger, where this site runs
- Our accountant and the Dutch tax authority, as the law requires
We do not sell your data.
5. Data leaving Europe
Gumroad is based in the United States and processes order data there. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR allows, such as standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep things
- Invoices and order records: 7 years, because tax law requires it
- Emails: 2 years
- Server logs: a few weeks
7. Cookies
This site does not place cookies for visitors. Gumroad's checkout places its own cookies. See our cookie policy.
8. Marketing
Buying a book does not put you on a mailing list from us. We only write to you about your order.
9. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to how we use it, and to get a copy to take elsewhere: reply to your Gumroad receipt email. We answer within one month.
10. If you are not happy with how we handled it
Please write to us first. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the supervisory authority in the country where you live.
11. Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Security
The site uses an encrypted connection. Only the people who run the shop can see order data. If a data breach happens that puts you at risk, we will tell you.
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. Big changes will be clearly marked.
